Pilates can help with many issues.

Pilates has the ability to help relieve or solve many muscle, posture and joint issues, as well as address stress and tension, so as to reduce your future risk of injury

Your Pilates physiotherapist may use a variety of equipment, treatment methods and sessions.

Private one-on-one sessions

An introduction to Pilates techniques and the principles involved.

Building Core Stability

Training your inner core and outer core muscles for stability and pain-free, efficient movement and maximum performance.

Specialised Equipment

Our spring-loaded machines and specifically designed equipment support your bodyweight and allow your body to relax. Specific exercises provide resistance (such as to build muscle strength), or assist you into a greater muscle / fascial stretch (such as to increase muscle mobility and flexibility).

Semi-Private Sessions

Maximum of 4 in a session, for those familiar with pilates.

Pre and Post-natal

Pregnancy-related conditions can include lower back pain, upper back pain, pelvic pain (SIJ or pubic symphysis pain) or diastasis recti (abdominal separation). Pilates helps to activate specific deep stabilising muscles and your pelvic floor to achieve optimal joint stability and prevent urinary incontinency after birth.

Pilates can address an underlying cause of pain, recurring injury or weakness by looking at the biomechanics of the body as a whole, rather than looking only locally at the joint involved.

The latest scientific evidence reveals that you’re less likely to have a recurring injury if your rehabilitation includes exercises that activate and strengthen your stabilising muscles. Good news indeed.

Pilates focuses on correcting muscle imbalances and improving faulty movement patterns, using a series of precise exercises and often utilising specialist equipment (Reformers, Cadillac / Trapeze, Wunda chair, Barrels and so on).

You could have strong global muscles, but have weak stabilising muscles. This imbalance can lead to chronically tight muscles, recurring injuries, poor postures and decreased peak performance.

Pain, injury or poor posture can cause your core stabilising muscles to switch off. But these muscles don’t just switch on again by themselves. We have to consciously turn them on.

Our practitioners can help solve the cause of your pain.
