Sarah Marvin

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

About Sarah

I was very fortunate to have spent my childhood, adolescence and young adulthood being physically active and participating in various sports. I gravitated towards distance running in primary school and have since competed at many national championships in distances ranging from 800m to 10km and cross country. I was also a competitive swimmer, albeit not fond of the early starts!

Having seen the benefits of exercise firsthand and wanting to better understand the science behind it, I decided to enrol in an Exercise Physiology degree at The University of Sydney, where I graduated with First Class Honours. I am currently completing my PhD in Exercise Oncology with a focus on exercise/physical activity for individuals with advanced melanoma receiving immunotherapy.

I have a particular interest in exercise for chronic disease management, particularly cancer and cardiac rehabilitation. My other interests include injury management and athletic performance.
