Is an annual event for our staff, business colleagues, clients and friends to attend so they can enjoy a fantastic day, while raising awareness of Men’s health in the community, and funds for The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
Concerned with a lack of awareness of prostate cancer amongst their male friends / colleagues, Craig and James created the Inaugural Charity Golf Day in 2011, which saw 35 players enjoy a wild and windy day at North Ryde Golf Club. Over the following few years the event continued to grow, which saw a move to St. Michaels Golf Club in 2015.
The event is held in late February each year to take advantage of the late summer sun, and so far, we have raised over $100,000 for The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) and had over 600 players attend. The day will see you or your team compete (18 holes, Ambrose format, shot gun start) for a series of prizes amongst PCFA Ambassadors, professional athletes (rugby, AFL, league, water polo, Olympics, netball) and associated patients / friends of Balmain Sports Medicine, followed by drinks / canapes on the lawn for our presentations.
If you would like to be involved in this years event, please email craig@balmainsportsmed.com.au directly, so that you can:
- be personally invited as a player when the bookings ‘open’ for the event, or
- obtain further information on becoming a business sponsor (naming rights, hole sponsors, longest drive / nearest the pin competitions) on the day, or
- donate merchandise (sporting or general business) to our prizes / raffles for the day
Prostate cancer is a ‘silent killer’ & it simply shouldn’t be; did you know that you only need to get a blood test to start monitoring your own PSA levels to assess your own level of risk? Please discuss with your GP, and tell your mates to do the same!
