ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON
About Dr Nav Aggarwal
Dr Nav Aggarwal is an Australian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon subspecialising in hand, wrist and microsurgery.
He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2011, after which he began medical training at Liverpool Hospital in 2012. He simultaneously completed a Master of Surgery (Orthopaedics) with the University of Sydney.
He commenced specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery on the Sydney Southside Training Network in 2016. He achieved the highest rank in the state for his specialist qualification exam (FEX) and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2021.
Dr Aggarwal undertook a further 18 months of postgraduate fellowship training in hand, wrist and microsurgery at Liverpool Hospital, St Luke’s Hospital and Sydney Hospital.
In addition to his clinical practice, he has a passionate interest in research and education. He has authored several peer reviewed publications and has presented at scientific conferences both locally and internationally. He has completed the Clinical Teacher Training Program with University of Sydney and is involved in the teaching of medical students, doctors, physiotherapists and nurses. He is a conjoint lecturer with UNSW.
He places a strong emphasis on communication, good surgical outcomes and holistic care in the management of his patients. He has current public appointments as a Visiting Medical Officer at the specialist hand units at Sydney Hospital and Liverpool Hospital.
